Ok, that's not entirely true. I skipped the gym today. I'm feeling pretty crappy about that, but I'm going to look at it from a realistic perspective. Out of the past 3 or 4 weeks, I think I've skipped the gym maybe 3 times. I've been going 6-7 days a week, and I'm going to count this as a day of rest. To be fair, since I did my freeweight workout yesterday, my body could probably use a day off.
I was planning on going after work today, but then I realized that I was teaching one of my music students tonight, so I just called it a night.
Before I started this whole crusade to drop the weight, skipping a day in the gym was no big deal. Hell, even on the 'best' of my dieting tracks, I probably went three.. maybe four times a week, tops. Today, I feel like I just stole my neighbor's dog and sold it to the gypsies for a bag of beef jerky. I feel guilty for not going to the gym tonight. It's strange.
But, back to work tomorrow. A long day, but it's going to start with a trip to the gym. Get the weigh-in done, run some good cardio and those crunches.. and be ready for another iron pumping workout on Saturday. Catch you on the other side of the pillow, I'm headed to bed.

Giving your body a break could be the best thing for you at this time :)
ReplyDeleteuhhh....the sun was in my eyes...
ReplyDeletebetter day tomorrow :)
You definitely deserve a break and your body needs time to recuperate! No harm in resting...as long as you're back in the gym tomorrow (which you will be). ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah dude- you should take at least one day off from the gym a week. Your body really does need the rest to rebuild itself stronger. The "repair" is where you actually gain muscle. Without adequate rest, your body can't repair, and you'll be screwed. I think I'm gonna take 2 days off this week, cuz I'm sore.
