24th Annual Turkey Trot.. Here I Come!

I've never done this before. An organized race, going downtown Detroit to run. It's pretty freaky to think that I'm going to take this on myself, with no one there to tell me that I'm crazy. The race starts at 8:00, which means I can pick up my "racers packet" tonight or tomorrow. I'm guessing since I'm going to sign up tonight at Cobo Hall, I'll just pick it up, and assume that I'm leaving my house around 6:00am.

I'm really going to do this. If you don't see me post another blog in a week, it means that Big Tuck has died on the roads of Detroit. I found this chart to help give me an idea of what I'm expecting:

According to this, I should expect to take about 62.5 minutes to finish the track. That means, I'm setting my goal at an hour. I have no idea if this is reasonable, too hard, or too easy, but I'll be sure to let you know tomorrow.

I feel good about this. But, I always feel good about challenges in the first few weeks of a "diet". Keep me honest, and keep posting and letting me know that you're reading this. It means a lot towards my success.

Tuck-
You can do this. You so can do this. Kudos to you for taking a BIG step-one that you will grateful you did. Chasing kids around ain't easy (cause, you will have them one day, right?)and starting now to drop the weight is a SUPER idea. Plus, all your friends (old and new!) want you to be around for a long time. People thought I was crazy walking 60 miles in 3 days for Breast Cancer-but not only did I do it once, I did it THREE times. You CAN do anything you set your mind to. You inspire us all :)
Keep us posted on how it went!

*hugs* Nicole

Well done mate. Next Year at the Turkey Trot you'll finish the race, and want to race again and again till you're tired. That'll take a day or two.

Congratulations, man. Way to stick through it and show them all that Tuck know's where it's at!

Seriously though, nice job. Now, don't go reversing the effects of that race with dinner ;)
