Another part of the struggle

Today's plan was to go to the gym after work at 6, and then get downtown to Wayne State for a concert that I'm required to go to for school at 7:30.

Long story made short, I made it to the gym, and had about 15 minutes.. and then ended up talking to a few trainers instead of really working out. Did a few stretches and curls, but who am I kidding. I knew I didn't have the time, but I wanted to show my face in the gym.

At really well tonight, and Erin's doing a great job of cooking healthy. Had an amazing chick pea spaghetti and chickens over spinach tonight. I've got an amazing wife that makes Rachael Ray look like Ronald McDonald when it comes to the kitchen.

The next few weeks are going to be tough. Final exams in 2-3 weeks, I've got a stretch in the 2nd week of December where I have to go to 7 concerts in 8 days, which means I won't see my house from 7:20am until after 8:00pm at night.. every single night, and that's accounting for ZERO gym time. Just not acceptable.

So, I'm going to cut this short, as the gym opens early. I have to be downtown (about an hour drive from my house) to be in class at 8:30, which means a 7:30 departure if I'm skipping the gym. I'm *NOT* though, so that's a 6:00am departure time.

Tomorrow marks one week, and I'm still on the wagon. Hang in there with me, I'm going to need it. Oh, and if anyone knows how to stop the clock so we have enough time in the day, let me know. I'll take two.

Man, time is KILLING me, too. Working 30 hours each week from home, while raising two kids under two, then trying to find time with the wife - it makes finding that spare 30-45 minutes tough.

Between stress and time, the odds are stacked against us. Just keep on moving.

Here's my tip for the day: When you don't have time for a real workout, make yourself do one full circuit (minimum two sets) of your favorite excercise. At least that way you're working SOMETHING.

Hang in there.

Don't worry too much about time now, Tuck....eventually you'll figure it all out and be set. Baby steps at first.

6:00am, do you know where your Tuck is?

He's headed to the gym. I'm freaking tired.

mark said it best, so did Dr. Leo Marvin: "Baby Steps"

you will seriously be surprised how well this works, and believe me when you make it habit it will become much more easier

so quit your whining dammit. (good enough for ya?)

LOL, thanks BA. I've always noticed that the hardest part of a workout is GETTING to the gym. Once I'm there, I'm in the zone and I do well. I like the morning workouts because it'll be like 7:30am and you're already done with it.

Great to hear, I see you're really motivated into getting to the gym which is great to hear, no excuses, I gotta get there type of thing. In your free time you could walk/jog 5 miles, then the next time do more, then the next time do more and so on. By the time you get used to it, you might walk all the way to London. A song that'll keep you going for that would be that "I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more" song.

Just give it time Tuck. Soon enough you will be a well oiled machine. LOL
