Boom - Headshot!
Weigh In: 274.5
Five Day Average: 275.65
Calories Counted: 2333
I've always had a big head. It's one of those German curses, I suppose. I look at the picture above and I kind of shake my enlarged melon. I never realized until it was too late that I had gotten as big as I had, and it is just good to know that I'm in the right direction. It's tough sometimes, and I'm one who is famous for looking too closely and not seeing the big picture, but when you see these pictures, you know that you've accomplished something.
That being said, I think that's part of the trap I fall into. I've been spending a lot of time lately resting on my laurels. I mean - I've lost 104 pounds (according to my 5 day average), that's pretty damned impressive to me. But, if feels as if I'm sitting pretty being all proud of myself and not working as hard as I could to lose the other 55 pounds I want to lose because I'm too busy patting myself on the back.
I've been pretty solid the past few days. Made some good decisions, and I had a stellar workout this morning. I'm starting to find my groove again.
Not much else to say tonight - just trying to remind myself (and perhaps others) that no matter how far I've come, I've got a long way to go. Looking at the head pictures right now, I realize that I can't even remember myself looking like the 2005 picture. And I'm sure that back then, if I was looking at today's picture, I wouldn't even recognize that person at me.
Imagine what I'll be saying a year from now ifI keep my head on straight and keep working as hard as I can.

I've been wanting to tell you this for awhile Tuck. You have been doing more bragging than working lately, and it shows. I seem to remember you sitting at a table with Brandon on Saturday, talking about how you had lost over a hundred pounds, while drinking a shake and eating a burger and fries. Granted, I was eating like crap too, but it seems pretty typical of you these days. I've been seeing a lot of those pissed of posts from you lately too. Just some food for thought dude. That's the best kind. No calories :)
You're right - last weekend was a total mess. I did well the entire time when I was 'on my own', but the minute that the old crowd got together, I went back to those old habits.
It goes back to the whole "you are who you hang out with" thing. Not an excuse by any stretch, but social situations have always been my downfall. I've got a lot of work to do in that area - when I've got my 'schedule' in place, I knock it out of the park. For example, this week's been solid (and surprise, the scale comes down again).
Just goes back to what I was saying - it's just as hard today as it was the day I started. I'm nowhere near where I want to be - and I need those slaps of reality some times. I know I can always count on you to call it how you see it ;)
I fell into a similar trap for a few weeks.
Yeah you need to pull out of this. Burger and fries and a shake, and you didn't even blog about it? Dude, sounds like you're going easy on yourself.
If it helps, look at it this way: Forget the 100 pounds you lost. Today? You're starting a new lean body quest.
Nah, I didn't skip the burger/fries news on here. I didn't say "burgers and fries" but it was only a part of that whole weekend. I talked about it here:

This past weekend was a collision course - a friend coming home combined with an uncle's triple bypass. I failed miserably and confessed and talked about it.
But that's last weekend. It's Friday and I've been 100% perfect and in the gym every single day. This weekend is already set to be a solid one. I hit 274 this morning, a pound away from my "new low". I'll be breaking that barrier this weekend.
don't pics make it a lot more fun? really lets you see how much progress (or lack thereof) you've made as well.
however, maybe you should get rid of all your old pics on your blog, because now you have a new body to work with. Maybe it will help you forget about any progress you've made so far and focus on the future. Just a thought.
Brian, I've been thinking about that a lot lately. There's more to it - coming up in the next blog, I'm thinking.
Nice to see you headed in the right direction again Rob. You talk about "it's who you hang with"...one thing you've done with this FAT coalition is create an environment where the people you hang with hold you accountable for reaching the goals you've set for yourself.
Your post is timely because I was looking at my weigh in and thinking "why haven't I been calling Rob out on this? He was ahead of me and kinda dropped back for some reason". I had actually planned to go back and look at your entries to find out what was going on, but it sounds like you've recognized it already.
I don't think you should scrap everything and start over, but I do think you need something to pull you forward to what you want to be rather than pushing you away from what you used to be.
