Today's Weigh In: 274.5
Yesterday's Calories Counted: 2303?
I think I made some pretty good decisions yesterday when it came to my eating. It was one of those 'tough situations' last night. Erin's uncles are still in town because they came in for her other uncle's triple-bypass (he's recovering well), so we all went downtown to Greektown last night. If you're not from the Detroit area, Greektown is legendary for their good food. A whole street full of different types of Greek cuisine.
So, we sit down at Pegasus and order. Everything is there - so many Greek choices, so few words I could pronounce. I wanted to try something that I wouldn't normally try - and I wanted to do it in a healthy way. Instead of getting a full blown meal with the lemon soup, bread and fries/potato, I opted for two appetizers. One was Grape Leaves, which looked gross but were simply amazing. About as healthy as you can get. The other was Quail. That grossed out Erin big time - usually you would think they would cut it all up and not make it look like an actual bird, but all the body parts were attached (minus the head - even *I* wouldn't have eaten it that way) - so you know my goofy ass had to play comedian and grab the quail by its arms and make it dance around the table.
I'm SO mature.
That being said, the meal was FANTASTIC and super healthy. Chalk one up for me.
Also, the picture at the top is of me and our friend Jim (not 3-day Jim) at the cheering station waiting for Jim (yes, the 3-day Jim.. not TOO confusing, eh?) to make it through during the 3-day walk (click on the picture to make it bigger). We were at the 55 mile point when he came walking by strong. Was pretty damn impressed, as I mentioned already. I'm going to start training (and fundraising - get your wallets out, folks) by adding more walking into my routine. I know it's a year away - but damn if walking 20 miles in one day ain't no joke.
Oh, and one more clerical thing - I'll have the teams back down to two person soon. I'll try to get everyone matched up with someone they want to be with - we'll make this work.

Can I be the October Challenge Mascot or something?
No offense to your friend Jim in the picture, he looks like he's in OK shape, but Tuck, you look slimmer than him ;)
Yeah was gonna say you should take your arms to a gun show and get some coin ;) - looking good Rob. Rockin the polo style shirt and all.
Maybe the winners can get a little flexing Billy by their names :). Gonna get me some better results this month.
Quail? You mean the cute little families that I see walking in-line through my neighborhood?
I couldn't eat them but a lot of Arizonans hunt them and eat them.
By the way, you look fabulous. Congrats on the walk.
congrats on the walk! i'd like to find out where to do something like that here sometime. Maybe I can get Billy and Swanky to go with me :)
I want to make sure that I point out that *I* didn't do the walk - Jimbo did. I just drove to the cheering station and cheered them on as they walked by :)
I will, however, be walking it next year.
The dates for 2008 may be released tommorrow! Im way to excited for it :) I am so bummed I didnt see you at the cheering station! You are looking quite trim in that picture :)
Walking is a good idea, Tuck. Twenty miles in one day is the EASY part. The hard part is the next twenty miles and the next twenty miles. You are looking good now-a-days though. We'll keep things moving forward, and come this time next year, we may both be walking out our (OH GOD I HOPE I DON'T JINX IT) target weights.
Oh, and just for the record, our friend Jim in the picture has lost about 30 pounds or so too. I know you weren't being mean, Billy, but I just thought I'd point that out, because he's earned it.
Rob I just wanted to say youre looking rather daper in that pic. First thought that came to mind was "Rob is really slimming down - wow!"
Lookin' good, Rob! And awesome job on the healthy choices. The not-so-healthy Greek food is hard to pass up, so congrats on that.
Is that the 260's approaching? 300 seems like a myth. Go Rob
