One

Weigh In: Already reported
Calories Counted: 1346

Breakfast: GoLean Crunch cereal and milk
Lunch: Tuna fish out of the packet, dry. Also, can of Campbell's Italian Wedding Soup
Dinner: Erin's homemade turkey meatballs w/ tomato sauce, light salad.

Exercise: 30 minutes on the Elliptical.

I couldn't get my body going this morning. 30 minutes on the Elliptical was tough today. As I said on someone's blog today, I felt like I had concrete in my shoes and oatmeal in my veins. But, I did it - I got out of bed, hit the gym before work, and did what I had to do. You can tell by the eating that I mean business - at least for today.

Good eating? Check. Getting some exercise? Check.

That's all I can do. Results should follow, even if it isn't the next day.

Edit: Wednesday morning, 7:34am. Just got done with a 2 mile run, NONSTOP. I didn't time it, the focus was distance without stopping, not the time this time around.

Also, Happy Halloween. To those of you who are in an office setting, be strong today when the treats come out. We're having an entire buffet hosted by the office managers, and I'm going to show myself that I can keep my hands out of the tricks and treats. Day Two is on.

Great job on your 2 mile run nonstop. Looks like you are gaining momentum again. Take it one day at a time Rob ;)

The candy wars has started...I will stay strong to!

2 miles is no joke.

Don't forget though, that the BEST exercise for weight loss is a combination of strength training and intervals. NOT steady state cardio (elliptical, running). Not that it won't help, but it won't help as much.

Just a reminder!

Good for you on "getting started" again. Sometimes that is the hardest part.

I concur with Billy - focus more on interval training for greater results.

Greater results = fewer frustrations

I'm not trying to skip the gym, I just didn't have the time this morning. Had to get up and moving early, and I could have either hit the gym for like 30 minutes (wasting time for drive time and locker room), or I could throw the sweatshirt and mp3 player on and maximize my time.

For a while, I'm on the "just do something" plan. Eat right and move. I need to get back into that mindset first and foremost.

It's great to have you back Rob.

I have a question though...when are you going to stop "starting over"? You're doing what I always do with weight loss, hitting the reset button and starting again. It's a good way to preserve your ego, but not a great way to lose weight.

You need a plan you can stick to for the long term, through the good and bad times...with a set goal and a deadline you're fully committed to.

Jay - honestly, if I had that answer, I would have hit my goal weight by now. I don't know. I can only take it a day at a time.

Sounds like you're dedicated to getting back on track Rob. I think this break in OKC came at a really good time for you - you needed the time to enjoy yourself and "escape" from all your crazy busy-ness for a few days - we all need that sometimes. I think this break will re-energize you in your weight loss quest.

Welcome back home - hope you and Erin enjoy your first Halloween in your new house!

Not to toot Robs horn but he is succeeding the man has lost 100lbs. Has he had slip ups? yes. have we all had slip ups? Yes. Whether Robs wants to admit it or not he is not restarting or resetting, he is continuing with what he wants. I think you have to be on hiatus for much longer than a week to consider it restarting. Glad to have you back OKC Rob.

I never really considered it starting over or resetting I guess. I feel like I'm just trying to run up this giant hill, and even though I'm so close to the top, the enemy keeps pushing me back. So, I keep reclaiming ground.

Stopping, quitting, any of that, has never crossed my mind. I hope I haven't come off sounding like that.

Good for you on your NON-STOP two miles. Doesnt it make you feel great on the inside knowing what you can do?

To close this loop. I agree that you've done a lot, and your story has inspired all of us.

I think you mentioned in a previous blog, you've been bouncing around the 270's for while now, and I just see the same pattern that I always go through of starting and stopping. I know you're never going to plan on stopping, but your setbacks lately have been hurting you more than they have in the past, and I was suggesting that it might need a mindset change.
