Weigh In: Already reported
Ok, now this is going to sound really stupid, but I've got a major bruise on the bottom of my tailbone, and I have no idea what the hell it's from. Right down at the bottom of the spine - it's been hurting for the past few days, but today and yesterday it's really been tough. For example, when I sit down in my computer chair, I'm comfortable. But I know when I get up, there's going to be a laser beam of pain shooting from the tailbone.
Pardon the pun, but it's a pain in the ass.
I've been gaining steam in the gym lately, but this is totally limiting. I went to do my dumbbell curls (50 pounds), and I could hardly lift them. The pain was shooting through my lower back, it was rediculous.
I'm hoping I can sleep it off, but if not, I may end up at the doc's over it. Plus, add that to my right shoulder that I'm convinced I'm going to end up with tendonitis or arthritis in - it's been stiff and burning for months and has been getting progressively worse lately.
I apologize to those of you who actually sat through me whining through this blog. I feel like I really need to push as hard as ever right now, yet potholes keep popping up. Either way, as I said yesterday, I'm doing what I need to do - whether I'm up for it or not.
TGIF - big time.
Oh, and here's some good news. Everyone welcome Geoff to the FAT Coalition. Welcome aboard, Geoff.

A wise man once said: "You don't have to like it, you just have to do it." Sounds like you're on the right road, Tuck.
Tail bone things sucks man, that takes a long time to heal. Luckily if you can deal with the pain you can push through it. Wait until your my age then you really get sore ;). Ok I am not that old but work out pain lasts way longer than it used to. Dont let up man I really want to see a 260 something on your page soon. Keep the streak alive this weekend. Do it now not next week!!!
I'd have to disagree with the others. I think you should get that shoulder and tailbone looked into before pushing foward with weights, squats, deadlifts etc...you could be making matters worse. Thats my .02 and I wont think youre half-assing it or anything if you do this. Its called being wise :)
I'm avoiding heavy lifting, but I'm able to get into the gym and get some stuff done, it's just certain movements that are killing me.
For example, I was trying to do my dumbbell rows (the ones where you have a knee on the bench and you raise from the ground up), and the lower back just was being torn up, so I skipped those.
I can still move though, so I'm doing what I can do without adding damage - that's the last thing I want to do is turn this from a 'pain in the ass' to physical downtime.
The Aleve pain reliever pills are working full time, though ;)
I also think you need to get it checked out. Go to the doctors Rob. Last year when I pushed myself jogging, I really messed up my knee. (i have arthritis). My orthopedic surgeon was happy I came in when I did or said I could of did worse damage.
I dont mind your whining. We all need to wine every now and than :)
Thanks for the welcome Rob!
