Ok, I'm going to try to remember to start putting this up there every day. This is what calorie-count.com does with your food log when you put it all in there. I should, but I don't, know where I should be with my sodium, cholesterol and fiber, so if someone can point me in the right direction (also fat/protein/carbs) and give me an idea of what I'm shooting for, I'd appreciate it.

So here's the bottom line for today.

I ate much better, and didn't cave in to temptation. It was really hard today. I think back a few months when I was on this strong move, and avoiding the 'tough' foods was easy. I'm really seeming to have a hard time with this thing lately, but I know what I've said a million times, and it hasn't changed. YOU GET WHAT YOU EARN. Hopefully today I earned a small victory.

Also, as I mentioned before, I'm getting pretty frustrated with my leg, even though it's starting to heal up a bit. It's MUCH better than it was a week ago tonight when I messed it up, but I feel like I'm unable to go full tilt in the gym, I'm still apprehensive, and the pain still appears, even though I pretend it doesn't. I really.. I mean, REALLY, am looking forward to being 100%.

So, I know I'm not supposed to expect results on the scale per day, but I could really use a pick-me-up in there. I just hope I get the benefit of the doubt. If I don't, that's OK too - but a drop in weight would really give me a boost that I desperately need.

How are you weighing yourself? I thought you used to weigh in at the gym, after workouts? Well, if you aren't working out, that could affect your weigh-in in a number of ways...

I always weigh myself first thing after I wake up, before I eat.

The other thing- for the july challenge- NO FAIR! I predict you're gonna weigh-in at like 294 on the 1st and then mysteriously lose the 8 pounds you mysteriously gained in a few days. THIS IS WHY THE AVERAGE TECHNIQUE IS BETTER!!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Nice job with the clean eating dude. I know what you mean about it gets harder, but you gotta push through.

It seems you're already re-motivated. Hope your leg doesn't hold you back too long. I tried doing a light jog on the treadmill Monday and my knee bothered me all day Tuesday - I fear not being able to move - losing weight would be pretty impossible.

Billy - I'm back in the gym now that I'm weighing in. I'm still doing the 'weigh in after workout' thing, so it's about as accurate as I could possibly be.

If it makes you feel any better, my weight came down today, so I'm not going to be 'padding' my numbers as much as it seems. I have to admit, I did think about that - with the number rising, it may have put me at an advantage.

Either way, I'm hoping to get back down to my "new low" of 286 where I was a week ago before July starts.

I'd much rather lose the challenge at 277 than win it at 284, you know?

Oh, I know you would. But it's not up to you, it's up to the scale. I really wish we could use averages for this challenge, but alas...

We should choose whichever is the better number - the 5-Day or the daily. If I weigh in at 294, but my average is 292, I should use the average. If I have a great weigh-in at 287, but my average is 290...you get the idea.

Rob, it looks like your sodium might be a little high, but I'm not sure. LA Boxing tells me to aim for no more than 3,000mg per day. I don't know how accurate that is, though.

Great job getting back at it.

This challenge is getting out of hand. Why are we trying to cheat ourselves/each other? To pick the lowest number isn't fair, in my opinion. And if Rob does 'mysteriously' lose a bunch of weight in week 1, SO WHAT?! The truth is, he's only cheating himself if he stops there, but if he wins because of that, it's his loss really. Maybe I'm just an ultra-noncompetitive person, so I'm having a hard time getting all the drama. Somebody can feel free to hip me to the game.
