For the last few days, I've been focusing (both on the blog and in my life) on the Race for the Cure, and everything that went along with it. Now, I'm back into my swing of things, and doing what I need to do.
Had a good day, food-wise. Made some good choices, some good substitutions, and I'm happy with that.
I can't help but think that it's been a full month since I lost 1 pound. By far, this has been the toughest month for me in term of my weight loss, and in terms of my determination. Before, if I would have gone a full month essentially losing nothing, I would have quit. No questions asked.
But I feel like it's different. I'll be honest.. part of me really has that fear that I'm not going to be able to hit 250. I have those doubts.. I mean, I broke 300 on May 3rd. We're talking a month and a half, and I've got what.. 9 pounds to show? I know that in the big picture it's an accomplishment, but when you're facing this on a day to day, it tests your mental strength.
On the other hand, I haven't lost a step. I get frustrated, but there's no "Quit" in me. It's not even close. Instead of giving up, it's just made my drive stronger.
So, as much as I want to get back under 290 and beyond, I feel like I'm being tested.
I'll win this one, too. In the meantime, you guys get to hear me bitch about it ;)

Rob-
I know how hard it is working so hard and not seeing results on the scale, but I honestly think you're gaining strength/muscle. Keep up the healthy eating and maybe checking measurements for a couple weeks might help...(suggestion) You're looking great-AMAZING really. And what an accomplishment to wear an XL. You gotta feel good about that :)
Once I get some answers to some of my medical issues I plan on joining your blog group. Gotta lose the baby weight I have never really lost ande get healthier before the next McCoy rugrat comes along. :)
You'll hit 250. The fact that "there's no quit in you" proves it. So you had a bad month in regards to lost weight. In a couple months, you'll be 10-15 pounds lighter and forget all about the 1 pound you dropped this month.
Also keep in mind that this is the hard half of the journey. Before, you dropped weight "easily" because there was more of it. Now that you're honing in on those tough spots, it's going to take a little more time and a little more effort. Hang in there, Rob. You'll break through this plateau. Just keep plugging away, doing what you know you're supposed to be doing and you'll get there.
Rob you cant doubt yourself cause you never doubt anyone else. People look to you for motivation and you are one of the more active FAT Coalition members. Everyone knows you have their backs. One of these weeks your body is going to unleash hell on your Fat and you are going to wake up 5 pounds lighter. That seems to be the way it goes for allot of people. Once you blast through this plateau it will drop with AUTHORITY. Keep going man!
I can definitely relate to the doubts, but I think your weight loss up to this point proves that, like Beck said, you will hit 250. 9 pounds in 6 weeks is nothing to sneeze at either.
Rob Ive had my weight hold at a certain range for a month or so in the past but I am a witness if you stick with it and tweak here and there it will begin to come back off again. What has worked for me is I monitor and track everything and that allowed me to go back and find trends during that stale period. I identified some trends and tweaked away and wahlah I began to average a pound to 2 lbs a week weight loss all over again. The body is a tricky machine and we have to learn how it works to get the results we desire. You have done it before and you can do it again. 250, no sweat!
proud of you for skipping the cheese at dinner tonight and last night!
we've all been at that point where we think we can't lose more. I think my worst plateau was 20+ days. It'll break, and you'll look back at it and laugh
