First Place - and More!

Weigh In: 283.0 (new low!)
Calories Counted: 2417(ish)

A few things to report today, a pretty good day.

First off, notice the "new low" on the scale. Was quite pleased to see that. It's hard to believe I'm almost in the 270's.. that just seems surreal to me. I'll take it anyday, though.

Also, you'll see the trophy. Tonight, the Beavers - my softball team - won our division and are headed to the playoffs with the #1 seed. I won't be there next week (more on that later), so it sucks that I'm missing the playoffs, but I ended on a great note.

I went 5 for 5 tonight, with a single, two doubles and two tripes. The best part about it is, I stretched those triples and doubles. Last year, that was probably 4 singles and .. MAYBE a double. I just felt like I was flying through the bases, it felt great. And hell, any time you can go 5 for 5 and have two stand up triples.. again, a good day for the big guy. We were down 14-2 and made an amazing comeback, winning the game in the final inning.

Back to the weight loss thing, this next week is going to be an important one for me. See, I'm not going to be around from this Saturday until next Saturday - we're headed to Presque Isle, MI - which is just north of Alpena - which, if you're looking at your hand and pretending that it's the state of Michigan, it's at the tip of your ring finger. We'll be up in a cabin around the lake for a week, relaxing.

Now, last year, I read the first 5 Harry Potter books in one week. Keep in mind that the fifth book is over 800 pages. I did NOTHING but read. Relaxing as hell.

This year's going to be different.

This year, I'm bringing my barbells, my golf clubs, my swim trunks, a tennis racket, my bike, and my running shoes. I'll be running, biking, playing tennis, swimming, golfing, and lifting weights.

And I'll be 280 at the end of the week.

I'll post tomorrow, but you may not see me after tomorrow until next week. I'll try to check in from a small little library in Alpena, but I'm not sure how that's going to work. I'll definitely be checking in all day tomorrow.

My first thought regarding your vacation was "good luck getting through security" (picture in my mind of all your equipment)but then I realized that I was relating my travel to Michigan, which is flying, to yours.

Have fun - you're such a jock.

Billy, I'll have to use either my Friday weigh in (283.0) or my Saturday weigh-in if I can manage to get to the gym before we leave, but that's kind of up in the air.

There's not a scale within probably 50 miles of where I'll be, and about 400 miles from any scale that I will have access to, so I may end up with the 283. The good news is, the "new low" held steady for 2 days in a row.

And yeah, it's a 5 hour drive, no security to get through :)
