Told Ya

Weigh In: 284.5

Btw, I meant to put up the picture of the 12 mile route yesterday but didn't. BEAUTIFUL path, walked right by a bunch of $1+ million houses. Not a shabby area. Click on it to make it bigger. Anyway, onto the blog:

I did exactly what I said I would do today. I went to bed expecting a loss on the scale because I 'deserved' it. And, when I stepped on it, it didn't budge. And, instead of realizing that I wasn't owed anything, I got pissed off about it. Funny how that works, the whole "knowing but doing it anyway" thing.

So I went to the gym this morning, and then went to school and work, and then I left work and just got done helping my brother move into his new house - lugging dressers, beds, desks, you name it, for about 4 hours or so, I got a pretty good workout. So yeah - I got those stupid expectations in my head.

So what's worse than stepping on the scale in the morning with expectation? Stepping on the scale at night for no apparent reason, and getting irritated at the number. Of COURSE it went up - I was dressed, just eaten, it's late at night when you weight more usually anyway, and here I am getting mad about it.

Funny how THAT works.

Plateaus are frustrating, especially when you see them coming a mile away. Seems I've gotten myself into another one of those battles. I won the first one, and I've beaten the Plateau Monster about 30 times - this time won't be different.

I'll still be irritated as hell, even though I know better ;)

keep working hard, you know you're going to keep making progress. The time you lose will probably be the day after you have a horrible eating day and skip a workout. After the weigh in, you'll probably say "I didn't deserve to weigh in so low, I'm going to work harder to earn it". As long as you're staying motivated, it doesn't matter.

I have a total irrational fear of any scale other than my own, at any time other than first thing in the morning. I just don't need that headache.

sometimes I will get on the scale at night before bed to try and forcast what I think my weight will be the next day. I don't know why I do this cause like any other weigh in its so random and fluctuates. depending on the morning I can be 0-3 pounds lighter. go figure...

Keep pushing as you always do Rob and you will break this plateau down like all others. I understand your frustration though.

Keep at it Rob. You can show this plateau whose boss! It really is putting up a fight time. I can defintely see how frustrating that is!

That path looks amazingly like Idaho. I used to live right about where the top left arrow is. :)
