Walking the Line
Yesterday Weigh In: 284.5
Today's Weigh In: 284.0
For the first time in a LONG time, I sat on my computer last night staring at the blog. I didn't have anything to say, and I wasn't in the mood to type, so I just skipped it. I'm not sure why that came on, but it did. It just got me to thinking about how important it is to keep up with the blog.
There's been a major decline in FAT Coalition posts lately. And, not coincidentally in my opinion, it seems to be pretty much in line with the weight loss. The more I read that we're 'doing ok' and 'not really losing', I see that we're not putting as much dedication into our blogs as we have in the past. Not pointing fingers, but I think there's something to be said for having that 'fire' - and fanning the flame of said fire by posting and getting our thoughts out here.
Just a little bit concerned about us starting to get lackadaisical. I know I'm guilty of it. I sit here and wonder why my weight's been pretty stable this week, and I see myself falling into 'settling' instead of fighting for it. Food for thought, perhaps?
Also, here's something cool. I may have mentioned on the blog that we were raising money for Breast Cancer Research the past few months - we did the Mongolian BBQ fundraiser, and then this past weekend I hosted a bowling party to raise money. The good news is, we raised enough to ensure that Jim is going to be doing the 3-day walk, which is 60 miles walking in 3 days.
Long story made short, I'm going to train with him tomorrow to give him some more support. So, probably by the time most of you have read this, I will have walked 12 miles. Tomorrow morning (aka: 7 1/2 hours from now), I'll be driving over to Jim's place, and we're going to put the walking shoes on and take the 12 mile walk to help him prepare. I'm not sure what to expect - he thinks that I'll get wiped out due to the distance, but I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Either way, 12 miles is 12 miles - something I've never accomplished before.
I'll report back in tomorrow on that.
In the meantime, let's all band together and really fight hard in August.
Momentum. Let's find it - as a team.

In case you were talking about me...I have been seriously under a tremendous amount of stress lately, and blogging sometimes keeps me from taking care of what I need to be doing, so I stayed away a little this past week (allowing me to get that earlier bedtime that I've been needing). I still stayed on track with my eating and exercise and saw the results though.
Naww...I'm sure you weren't talking about me.
I know what you mean, I've been feeling the same way about the blogs. I've been super busy with work myself, but still I try to post a little something daily if I can. The hard part is commenting on everyone elses blogs, that's what takes a lot of time.
But yeah. I hope people aren't losing the fire. Me included, but I don't think I am.
Kristen - actually (honestly!) I didn't have an individual in my mind when talking this week, just a general slow-down.
Btw, just finished the 12 mile walk. Nice.
Hey I walked 13 miles today :)
Kudos to you for helping your friend out, when the fundraising is done, its nice..because now your friend can focus on training only :)
Guilty!
