I'm not sure what it is lately, but I can't seem to get a good solid workout in when I'm in the gym. Billy attributes it to the weather and the changing seasons, and maybe he's right. I just feel gloomy lately. I feel like my muscles don't want to move, and I don't feel anywhere near as active as I have in the past. I mean, I'm doing what I need to do - my body just feels like it's got wet concrete flowing through my veins.
I was going to go for a run tonight, but it was so freaking cold here in Michigan. So, I went to the gym and got this half-assed workout in. I wanted to do more, but as I said - I just felt.. blah. Like ropes were pulling me to the ground.
Eating was fine as well, nothing much major to report on that one.
I will be running the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning - you Detroiters out there, if you want to do it, let me know and we can all meet down there. I'm also ready to sign up for the 5k "Race for the Cure" in May, and I've already signed up for the 3-day walk next September. This whole running thing may actually work out for me, I hope.
So, not much to report. All's well at the port tonight.

You did something. That's what matters. You'll get over the rest.
When you get that weighed down feeling, get pissed at it. And work out harder than ever. It sounds so weird, but that's what works for me. Crank up a jam that energizes you and just give it all you've got. I've been doing that lately on my runs, and damn does it feel good! Well, afterwards. For me, it's AC/DC's Back in Black. That beat, the lyrics...that just pumps me up and I sprint as fast as my noodle legs will let me. Anyway, here's to a month of exercise and diet revival. It's sucked pretty bad so far for a LOT of us. Let's shake this and kill our goals!!
(Now all we need is some cheesy music from a movie like Rudy or something.)
i agree with jim. you still went and worked out- that matters. you could have turned to food to cope with that bout of moodiness but you didnt! i have broken previous diets so many times because i succumbed to my gloom during one of those really bad negative days and after that it seems like everything spirals out of control. we all have these damned days where a half-assed workout is all we can put out but it still helped you stay on the programme. i dont know about you but exercise makes me want to eat well since i dont want to 'waste' my workout by eating crap.
I think we all have the "concrete vein" days. At least you did something, and didn't let it weigh you down on the couch. Pushing thru those times and staying active is important.
I like Beck's comment. That's something that I'll do next time I'm dealing with this. I love the choice of songs too!
