I did well today.
Started off the day with a STRONG workout - it was only cardio, but on the Elliptical machine that I usually do 10 on incline and 10 on resistance (and that really pushes the limits), I did 14 on incline and 11 on resistance, I was pouring sweat the entire time. So, I followed rule #1 from yesterday - workout every day. Check.
Had a family gathering tonight (one of many), but this wasn't a holiday party. Erin's cousin Theresa turns 17 tomorrow so we had a birthday party. On the menu - Mostaccoli, broccoli casserole (fat free mayo, broccoli and bread crumbs) and side salads. Also, birthday cake. And, the parties at this house are famous for the side dishes - there's this "Slop" which is cream cheese, hormel chili and covered with melted cheese, and you eat it with tortilla chips. Insanely awesome.
I wanted to have a 'few' bites, but all I could think about is how I can't settle for "decent" - and that only PERFECT was acceptable. So, I skipped it 100%. Not a single ounce of bean dip. At dinner, I had a normal serving of pasta, some broccoli and extra salad to fill me up. I then applied my same 100% rule to the chocolate cake Erin made - and she makes AMAZINGLY MOIST chocolate cake. Not a single bite. I watched them all eat it, and I didn't even have a nibble off of Erin's plate.
100% is what it's going to take. Not 95%. Not 97, 98 or 99%.
100%.
I did that today - and folks, I'm a proud weekend warrior tonight.

Good job, Tuck. Keep it rolling.
If that's what it takes, that's what it takes. You definitely can't go wrong going 100%. Nice work.
I've looked in the mirror and realized that I don't know how to give myself an inch without taking a mile.
So, no more inches. Not for a while, and at least not for December. You don't get to enjoy what you don't earn - no handouts.
Nice job man....I had a similar experience over the weekend about looking myself in the mirror. If I'm being honest, I'm not doing all I can to reach my goals. I'm going for better compliance in December to get me over the hump.
I'm beginning to realize the same thing for myself: if I don't commit 100%, then the little slack I give myself turns into a lot of slack. So I'm with you on tightening up all the little stuff that's holding us back. 100% all the way through the new year!
Wow Rob, that is impressive. You are doing what you need to do. I think its great that you know you cant just accept decent, you only will accept perfect. I can see its rolling over into other areas of your, making you happier :)
