The first step of my 3 step program to get "Under 300 by 30" is complete, as January is over. So, how did I do?
I wanted to reach 330 by the end of January. My five day average as of today is 331.3. So, I came up a tiny bit short. But, I'm ok with that, because as the top of the blog states, I weighed in at 330.5 today. If you use your high level mathematics abacus, you'll see that 330.5 is damn close to 330. So, I'm pretty proud of myself. When January started, everyone (including myself) thought that 15 pounds lost in a month was too accelerated, and there's not much closer than 330.5. My average will come. I'm just glad to see the scale lean in.
So, I believe the score is:
Rob 1, Scale 0
The goal for February is to do it again. 15 pounds by the end of February. There's only one problem. If January's goal was accelerated, February will be tougher, if only for the fact that we're going from 31 days in January to only 28 in February. So, it's a challenge that I've never faced before. But, you know something?
I love a good challenge.
See you at the bottom.

With the dedication you have shown so far, I believe that you have what it takes to tackle the challenge and win it. Congratulation on achieving you January goal!
Congrats and it is good that you realize that there are only 28 days in February.
Let's kick this month's ass!
Well done dude. I'm proud of you! It's true, everyone thought your goal was unrealistic, but you came as damn close as I think anyone could to meeting it. It's true, you need that carrot to be dangling just out of reach!
But I do have to break your balls.
If you're going to use the average method, then that's your weight, not 330.5. You can't just choose whichever number happens to look better ;) According to the average method, that 330.5 is a downward fluctuation until proved otherwise by 5 days of weigh ins!
I'm not taking anything away- you really did accomplish a lot this month. Congrats!
Billy - You're absolutely right. I don't consider myself "at 330.5", but as I mentioned at the beginning of January, if I could at least see it on the scale, I'd feel good about it.
If today was "change the title of the blog" day, I'd still in fact be at the five-day average.
I'm just abusing the rules to pat myself on the back today. It's how I roll ;)
Awesome job, Rob! Even your average weight is damn close to your goal weight, so pat away. I'm rooting for you to hit 316.3 by the end of February. It's going to be tough, but you can do it!
Again, great job!
Great job Rob - congrats on kicking the scale's butt in January (OK - maybe it was a squeaker!)
February will be tough but I'm betting on you...
That's awesome Rob, keep kicking ass and taking names. Average or not that's amazing, and you'll do it again this month. do this for me, start keeping a food log so i can check out your calories, etc. i want what you ate, when you ate it and how much of it you ate, i'll handle the rest. keep rollin.
