Timing

Start Weight: 280.4 (March 3)
Goal Weight: 260.4
Today's Weigh In: 275.2
Days to Goal (March 31): 11 remaining
Total Pounds Lost: 5.2 out of 11

Let's see how tomorrow works. I ate really well (again) today, but I ended up eating dinner after 9pm. I really didn't want to but there just literally wasn't 10 minutes to eat. I came home, 30 seconds after I got home my lesson student was there, and then when she left I had to take off to my wife's aunt house because she's doing some photography stuff for us. Got back to the house at 9ish. Had a chicken breast, salad, a piece of whole grain bread and one of those tiny jelly cup things with pineapple in it. Had turkey chili, some veggies and a diet pop for lunch. Had coffee for breakfast.

So, since I weigh in early, that'll probably cause my weight to go up. A bit frustrating because my body doesn't have any allowances. I'm sure it'll be up tomorrow, and it'll piss me off again. I wanted to start eating dinner EARLIER, and having smaller portions for dinner, which means I'd have to start eating more during the day. My time schedule just never works out - and that's a bit annoying. Something I have to overcome. Everything is on the run lately, I'm glad I'm busy with things I enjoy - but I'll be damned if I don't have a second to breathe.

One thing I was thinking about - once I do my 'official' student teaching and not this 15/hr a week stuff, I'll be on my feet ALL day. I won't have time to eat, I'll be moving constantly, and I think that might help me get to these goals I want to hit. But that's 5 months away - and I'm just tired of these 270s.

I'm exhausted so I'm not feeling up to analyzing everything, but the bottom line is, I have to start eating earlier, I need to start eating more meals and have smaller portions. It's the common sense stuff.

PS: I made a slight adjustment to my goal at the top of the post - I'm setting it for 11 pounds in March, trying to get under 270 by my birthday. More realistic (I hope).

i know eating late is supposidly bad for you, but i gotta believe it's still about calories in and calories burned. if you don't have time to eat early (like tonight) then just eat a lighter dinner- which you did tonight (yay on not having chili) :).

i'm rooting for you!!

ps- good luck on the student teaching theory but i am here to tell you that teacher's lounges have crap food all day long. today we had bagles and cream cheese, a deli tray and a bag full o' cookies.

See, I don't have a problem with that stuff. I don't get those cravings for the snacky stuff. My office has a *TON* of that all over the place. Today it was pineapple cake, a real cake, donuts, sugary sweets, Timbits and whatever they had for lunch.

My problem is sitting around and thinking about food. I don't think about it when I'm at school, but it's the only thing on my mind when I'm at work. Sucks.

I feel that Erin is right about the calories in vs. calories out. I think people get too caught up in the philosophy that you shouldn't eat foods after a certain period of time before bed. That just sounds crazy to me. I read a quote by Alan Aragon on this that made some sense, although I couldn't find it, it was something to the effect of:

"telling someone not to eat foods before bed is like telling them not to eat foods before their 8 hour shift sitting in front of a computer."

I think you're doing fine Rob...consistency is the key.

I feel that Erin is right

LOL, if I had a nickel for every time I heard that I could pay off my mortgage, my car and have 17 new big screen TVs.

This week.

I have to agree with what has already been said. I think that eating 5-6 small meals a day can do a lot for you though. I did it at the beginning of this whole thing and lost weight pretty consistently and then, I stopped and started to lose smaller amounts, and now I'm back on it and I not only see the results on the scale, I just feel better. It's defiantly worth a try, it'll defiantly mess with your body. However, it is very difficult to get those meals in, that's the hardest part for me. Good luck Rob!
