Hey guys - honestly, it's just been a 'getting to a computer' thing - I've actually been doing well. Thanks for the comments in the blog pushing me to post - that means a lot.
Last two weigh ins: 279.8 and 279.4 today.
Food's on target, have had turkey burgers and salmon grilled the last two nights, been having turkey chili for lunch (smart one's lunch today, didn't have time to make chili) with cereal for breakfast.
Had a concert last night that lasted until 9:30, came home and watched a quarter of the Pistons before falling asleep on the couch. The next few nights are going to be the same way - Tigers game (we're going) tonight, won't see the house before 10pm, then teaching lessons on Thursday night, then Friday we're going to another Tiger's game, and then Memorial Day weekend - one of my favorite weekends of the entire year.
Doing well - just haven't blogged. THANK YOU for keeping me accountable!

It's good to see you back on the straight and narrow Rob. I can tell by reading your post that you are doing better mentally as well. You aren't beating yourself up, which is great! The eating sounds good man!
I hope the Tigers start winning some games and win the ones you are going to. Are you going to any of the Finals for the Wings? Do you know where to get tickets relativley cheap???
You just gotta watch what you eat/drink when you're out and about. Make sure you don't go out hungry, that's where temptation lies.
Jason - not sure on tickets, I know stubhub.com's pretty good for those things. Also, pop your head in on sportsinferno.com (the 97.1 site), they have a ticket exchange forum. I hardly use it but I've seen it in action.
Geoff: You're exactly right, I planned ahead today. I had breakfast before work, had a smart one's lunch and then packed oatmeal for when (not if) I get hungry in the mid-day. Just had that (3:30pm), so I'm good to go until dinner. We'll probably eat at the game, so I'll try to be smart there, I'll probably end up with a hot dog and a diet pop. No shame in that as long as it's not 4 hot dogs - and at $4 a pop, I can promise you that won't happen ;)
Glad your back on track Rob. And I know you are a very busy man, but blog when you can because there are a bunch of us that enjoy reading your blogs. Take care and have fun tonight and over the weekend.
Good to see you moving forward again Tuck. Don't accept anything less than the best bro, you've earned it for yourself. Now KEEP earning it.!!!
ballpark food is of the devil!! diet soda and a hot dog is like dumping sugar in your cars gas tank. There has to be a better option there than that. If not pack something. I don't know man... I am not trying to call the kettle black (because I have my moments) but plan to succeed don't just except a hot dog and soda. Your a huge sports fan so you are going to be going to many events. does that mean you are going to eat a hot dog every time? Just something to think about Rob. Glad things are going well for you man. Keep the posts coming.
Rip, I totally hear you, but the part I didn't mention was the free hot dog coupon that came with a diet coke.
In comparison to drinking beer, having daquiris, nachos, cheeseburgers, and all the other AWESOME stuff they had, I chose ONE hot dog and a diet pop.
It's not grilled salmon and corn on the cob (that I had the night before - AWESOME, btw), but it was the best I could do for the situation. Comerica doesn't really have the healthy options.
(it could have been THREE hot dogs too ;)
blog, please

Hi Rob:
I hate to do this, but...
I agree 100% with the comments written by "ripx180" and I think it's important to highlight some of the (potentially destructive even if legitimate) excuses/behaviors/attitudes that you exhibited.
For a person with your *stated* goals and who has struggled to reach these goals, just because low-quality foods are free, doesn't permit or justify them being eaten. If there really is no way to plan (i.e., pack food) or if there are no better options, it may be better to go without eating at all (at the ball-park).
While it may not be practical to eat salmon and corn at the ball-park, it really doesn't take much effort to pack an apple, carrots, and a handful of mixed nuts to "hold you over" through the game.
And yes, eating one hotdog is better than 3 hotdogs, but this still doesn't justify engaging in behaviors that are incongruent with your goals. This kind of thinking/actions is just not rational.
Please understand, this is not a "flame" or "attack" of any sort. It's just an attempt (from an objective observer) to highlight some potentially destructive behaviors/attitudes that may contribute (consciously or sub-consciously) more to your struggles than you may realize.
You've already exhibited an amazing transformation from the 380 lb man to the man you are today. But, *you* are not satisfied (based on what you're writing). So, best of luck, and keep pushing!
Has anyone ever tried to take food into a ball park? I'm just curious. I've had way too many run-ins with security personnel while trying to take "beverages" into sporting events.
yea they let you take in snacks- when they check my purse they see lots of stuff usually :)

Another game tonight - we're going to dinner first so there's no snacking during the game.
I AM getting peanuts though, can't go without those.
