So far, so good - came down a bit this morning. Was happy with that.
I'm discovering something about how my body works lately - I think that I need to start doing more activity at night. My body seems to react well to afternoon/night exercise. I get my morning work in, but for example - yesterday I didn't work out in the morning. Gave myself a breather because I knew I'd have time to exercise later. Risky, because there was a chance I'd just skip it since it wasn't 'habit' for me to work out during the day, but it worked. Played soccer with the 3-4 year olds, played softball and hit the gym for some cardio, all after 2pm. It's an entirely different world exercising when the sun is up.
The hip's still acting up - I'm starting to accept the fact that I should probably have it checked out. I don't have the time or desire to go see a doctor, but I may have to end up sucking it up. Joy.
Anyway, wanted to blog during the day while I had a few minutes.

Are you eating less at night because you're more active?
Sounds like you are keeping pretty active. I always enjoy days like that because I'm away from the couch and tv!
I too like the afternoon workouts sometimes, I try to get everything done in the A.M., but if I don't I usually find that a P.M. workout helps in that I'm not rushing anything and it makes me more tired and ready for bed.
Keep up the good work Rob!
Jason, that's a whole other blog in itself. I find that I do *SO* much better on the days where I'm constantly on the move. When I'm not idle, I'm not thinking about food as much.
Example - today I'm at the office for 10 hours, at a desk. All I've been doing is thinking about food. I've already eaten my lunch, it's only noon and I'm here until 6pm. Food is my ONLY thought.
Yesterday, I was active. I was busy, driving around, doing things, being productive.. and food was an afterthought.
Something to be said for the lifestyle aspect. I can't wait until I'm student teaching full time (and teaching as a career) where this will be more of the case.
As they say, idle hands are the devil's playground. At work, thinking of food is definitely more prevalent, especially if it's a boring day (for me, at least). I combat this by bringing 2 lunches every day, and having healthy snacks in my desk (oatmeal, walnuts, almonds, protein powder) so there's no temptation to do anything but eat clean.
Nights can be the worst, so if you're filling up your nights with workouts, there's less chance of you breaking your diet. I generally find that I'm at my best after exercising, cos i dont wanna ruin my hard-earned deficit.
Hope the hip is better. Keep your head up Rob!
