Weigh In - 329.5
Five Day Average - 329.0
Went up a pound today on the scale, but it didn't bother me too much. I've got one concern that has been in the back of my head for a while, but I've been trying to keep it on the back burner.
I'm starting to feel some weakness in my right shoulder. A few days ago, maybe almost a week ago, I had some pretty intense pain in the right shoulder after doing my workout, but I chalked it up to growing pains. Over the past week, the shoulder has been burning a bit, and when I'm in the gym, I'm definitely favoring it. Today I did just a half hour of cardio on the Elyptical, and I could feel the burning in the shoulder as I ran. It's not a major pain, but it's something I'm conscious of at all times. Tends to run down to the elbow a bit, and since my job has me typing 8 hours a day, I notice it, even as I type this blog. I'm going to be extra careful with it, but I'll keep the blog updated if it gets worse. I'm hoping otherwise, obviously.
As for the scale, it went up a pound today, but as we say, we don't look at the daily weigh-in as anything but data collection. Today's new "Five Day Average" is an even 329. That's 1.4 pounds lost this week, and the second week where I'm just under 2 pounds for the week. It looks like my glory-filled 3 or 4 pound loss weeks may be over, and I may be settling into the 1.5/2 pound loss category. I'm definitely OK with that. Of course, I'd like to see more (who wouldn't), but as long as it's still going in the right direction, I'm going that way.
Not to mention that although this blog started at 350, remember in November when I started this that I wasn't able to get an accurate weight (too big for the scale.. ouch), and I estimated about 354, so there's a mystery 3-4 pounds in there that I'm not counting either. Regardless, starting with a 350, I've now lost 21 pounds. I feel pretty good about that.. but yes, I want more.
So, a new week starts. Let's see what I can do with the last 9 days of February. I've fallen short of the Under 300 by 30 campaign, but I can live with that.
Until next time!

I like the idea of the five day average...I think I'll borrow that from you.

This is where you can find my weight loss blogging journey...I'm just getting started with it and am reaching out to others for support. You're right! Support makes all the difference!
Keep it up!
I replied on your most current blog. The invite to join us in the cause is wide open. I like your blog too.. very thoughtful!
1.5-2 lbs a week is a good place to be. Right now I'm happy to lose 1.5 lbs. I've been on a roller coaster of lose 1 pound, gain .5 pound, lose 3 pounds, lose .5 pound. Wierd. I blame it on my comfort zone ;)
Well done, friend!!
You should get your camera out and get some, early in the process pics at least, even if they dont fully qualify as Before pics.
Also, watch that shoulder. Give it a rest if it persists, but dont let it get worse.
Hi Rob -
definitely be careful with that shoulder - I would call Lumberg and have him check it out if it persists. You don't want to do any permanent damage.
I agree with everyone - 1.5/2 pounds per week is a good sustainable weight loss... I wouldn't push or expect more - the important thing is you're going in the right direction!
You definitely look much thinner and healthier, and I know you mentioned your clothes are fitting much better - that's great progress!

Nicely done. At least your consistent. Watch the shoulder, I had some problems with soreness in my right shoulder and I took it easy for a couple of days.
Good luck.
I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. Great job on the weight loss!! I know what you mean about it not being fast enough, but you're on track and doing great!
And be careful about the shoulder. I personally think it wouldn't hurt to have it checked out. The remedy could be as simple as resting it, but you won't know unless you get it checked out. ;)
