Feeling A Bit Sore Today

Weigh In: 328.5

Third day in a row that I came in at 328.5. Part of me is pretty excited, since it seems as if I may have broken through the 330 barrier. There's a part of me that is afraid that tomorrow will be the day it returns to 330, but it hasn't happened yet, so we'll keep thinking positive. Tomorrow is the official 'change the blog name' day, and barring a disaster, it's coming down. The last four weigh-ins have been 330, 328.5, 328.5 and 328.5. With an average of 330.4 last Monday, it might look good tomorrow.

Today was really tough to get into the gym. Yesterday I did my full weight training workout, and my legs are killing me. It's the GOOD pain, where you know the muscles are regenerating, but especially my squats.. the backs of my upper legs are giving me that constant reminder. Good pain, but enough to get you mentally unprepared for another workout.

So, I hit 45 minutes on the Hill setting on the Elyptical, and then busted out 2 sets of 50 on the jump-rope, non-stop - followed up with 2 sets of 25 on the killer ab crunches (the ones where my feet are straight in the air and I'm holding a medicine ball while doing the crunch). Good pain.

Also.. I just wanted to mention one thing. No one has commented on this yet, so I'm assuming that's a result of the weekend, but I called out the FAT Coalition yesterday. After re-reading it, and after my wife confirming it, it came off like I was being a bit of an ass. Hopefully you guys can read through this, and see that my whole purpose is to keep us all on task. I've seen our posting/comments numbers drop lately, and my goal is to keep us strong. I know that I need you guys for MY success to work, and perhaps I'm being a bit selfish, but my intentions are good.

So, there's my public apology ;)

Important Weigh-In tomorrow. Until next time!

Hey,

For me, what you said yesterday was right on target. I read it yesterday but didn't post because I wanted to reply after I posted on my blog, which I didn't do because Saturday was a no exercise / bad food day. For me, at least, not posting means I was not happy with my day. If I did well of course I am going to put it out there and hope for a few replies.

Anyway, i was not offended at all by your comments. they were right on for me.

And for you, Congrats on getting into the 320s. Its motivating for me to see you going, cause if I drop out I know next time I check in I will be up in weight and you will be clocking in below me.

I think that posting on the days that we're not happy with our days is the most important. Get the thoughts out. We're here as a support group. It's easy to report in when things are good.

I don't want the Coalition to be a place where we brag about our successes only. We can brag to our friends and family. It's the hard times that we don't usually want to talk about, and I hope that this Coalition can be the strength needed to help during the not-so-easy spots.

No need to apologize, you said what you felt.

I think the blogging is different for everyone. Everyone has different reasons for posting or commenting. For some, it's a place to feel accountable. For others, its to get input, or vent frustrations. Some people (like me) like to float our current thinking and theories. For some, it's all of these things.

I don't want anyone to feel like they have to post, or they have to leave comments. Personally, I only leave comments if I have something to say; after a while the "you can do it" comments, while thoughtful, start to lose meaning.

Anyway, I know what you mean. It does seem that there are some of us who aren't posting regularly, and it's worth saying that it's important to post, especially when you feel yourself slipping. This is my most powerful tool, and I hope everyone is getting the most they can out of it.

If everyone is doing just fine, feeling success and not needing the tools here, then I'm happier than Britney Spears in a barber shop.

I'm just concerned when I see what used to be 5-6 posts a week turn into 1-2 posts a week, and when they do happen, they are posts of concern that things may not be working well, or that things didn't go right.

Billy, you're probably right in the sense of everyone using these blogs for different reasons. I guess I can only see out of my own perspective, but hopefully my intentions are seen to be good.
