Weigh In: 334
You'll notice that the weigh-in was a wee-bit higher than the last one, at 330.5. I can't really say that I was happy about that (obviously), but I wasn't really 'mad' either. It was one of those feelings where you were confused, because you had NO idea it was coming. Now, I should have known, and I shouldn't let it get to me, but I wouldn't be human if that was the case.
But, instead of being upset about it, I just remind myself that it's simply data collection, and that all I need to do is keep working out, keeping eating the way I have been, and it'll eventually come down.
Remember that "Inner Fat" thing we were talking about before? I need to readjust my thinking from the way it's been lately. When I hit 330.5, I was estatic. But but I start thinking to myself, I honestly can't see myself lower than 330. I mean, I can TALK about it, and I can talk about how "if I can keep up 10 pounds a month, I'll be blow 300 soon", but I just can't visualize sitting down and weighing less than 300. Hell, even 329 doesn't seem like it's something "I" can do.
Inner Fat - it's something much deeper than I've given it credit for. I should be sitting here THRILLED to death that I'm doing so well, but there's a part of me that just doesn't think I can do it. It hasn't really been around much, until I started thinking a bit deeper about my life, and what the weight loss would mean to.
Being 250 instead of 350 is a real life change. I haven't considered that. I keep thinking that "when I'm 250, I can walk around with no shirt on and not look like a complete ass". I think "I'll be healthier, so I won't be a walking health risk". I've got my shallow reasons, along with my main goal - to live the longest I can with my wife.
But the insecurity pops out once in a while, and it's been pretty consistent lately.
I guess I don't truly believe that I can be that skinny guy.
Seeing is believing, right? I guess I just have to go prove myself wrong.

Rob, you're being too hard on yourself. With your schedule, it's a wonder you get everything done. The fitness/weight loss program is a lifestyle. The benefits and progress are measured in a lifetime, not a couple of months. Keep up the good work. Stay away from the "bad foods", and spoil yourself a little this weekend, you deserve it.
I agree with whoever posted that! :)
Who else do you know (outside of these blogs!) that goes to the gym 6-7 days a week? That's dedication. You are doing a fabulous job and I am super proud of you. :)

I don't think Rob is getting discouraged, he's just thinking out loud, and that's what these blogs are for.
It's funny, you said "At 250, I can walk around without a shirt on and not feel like a complete ass." Well, I started at 258, and I didn't want to take my shirt off. I still don't, at 236. Maybe I'm striving for a comfort level that I can never reach, even at 190. That's what the "Inner Fat" discussion was all about.
is it really that hard to imagine? you're right there. by next saturday, you WILL be below 330. your weight is consistently going down. it's working.
even though it doesn't sounds like you're really discouraged, like billy said, your mentality is key to anything you do. keep your mind straight and push for it. it's right in front of you - you just need to take it.
