Weigh In: 274.5
Isn't it amazing that when you eat right and work out you lose weight?
TGIF! I'm wrapping up a pretty solid week. I've been perfect with my eating and I've been in the gym every single day, using HIIT the past two days. I flipped my workout around today - I did some prisoner squats as a warmup (just body weight), and then hit the bench. Since I was just on the bench yesterday, I did one set of 8 at 225, then two more sets of 10 at 205. In my rest time, I did 2 sets of 25 crunches on the yoga ball holding a medicine ball. I worked out my shoulders on that machine where you pretty much take up the entire weight machine - you stretch your arms out, grab the pulleys and pull them both towards you, and made that a superset with 75 pound curls - 2 sets of 10 each. I then stretched a bit, and did HIIT for 18 minutes.
Felt it this time. It's good to get out of the gym just feeling torched.
Plus, seeing the scale come down again was good to see. I'm in a weird spot, I was telling Erin this yesterday. I've dropped 6 pounds pretty quick here in the past 8 days - in the past I would be thrilled, but the joy isn't there because of the obvious - I've lost the same pounds over and over again. So right now, I can't enjoy it, it's all business. Let's get back into the 260s and THEN let the fun start.
So yeah - I think I'm officially back (again). To those of you who haven't blogged in a while, if you're still even reading this, just get back into it. These holidays kicked almost ALL of our asses, and it took me blogging every day and basically whining about life to get me out of that funk. Whatever it takes for you to get on your feet, just do it. Don't let a bad December ruin your January.

isnt coming back a great feeling in itself? even if you are losing the same 6 lbs over again, at least youre losing! good job!!!
Well your attitude is all back and that's so awesome.
However, I think we need to get you on a lifting program. For starters, you should never be benching 2 days in a row. You should bench once a week, when you're working your chest. Take a look at my workout sheets and see if any of them strike a chord with you. We need to have you building strength and muscle in balance all over your body, not just the man-muscles. Also, by lifting chest 2x in a row you aren't letting your muscles repair and grow, but are instead overtraining them.
Don't let me be captain bringdown, you're doing great and you're on a roll. Let's just fine tune so we can point that motivation in the most useful direction!
But I like working out the man muscles...
..ok, that came out wrong.
I'll check them out - I've been wanting to get into a 'structured' program for a while, but I get frustrated with the terminology a lot of time. I'll dive into them this weekend.
good stuff. Do what Billy says, otherwise you'll be thin, but flabby, like me.
haha
Good to see u back in action, Rob. Keep it up this time!
I completely know what you mean about losing the same pounds. It's cool and all, but there's no excitement because we've already been there.
Anyway, keep it up. Sounds like you've got your momentum back. That's definitely a good thing.
Well said Rob, and you're right, it does feel pretty awesome leaving the gym feeling like you've pushed your body hard!! I'm glad to see the results are following.
The 1st & last sentences of your blog said it all. Sometimes we complicate things way too much.
This is what is great about FAT. If you stick with it, keep coming back and reading (even if you don't feel like posting) eventually that motivation proves contagious.
Nice going Tuck.
Alright Tuck.
Let's keep it going, and see if you can beat me to 110 pounds lost. You're over 100, I'm over 90 and I'll race you.
Hey man, good to see you are up and rolling again! I like the new picture thing on the right side, technology has passed me by!
Rob if youre interested in some solid workouts and you dont mind spending a few bucks consider purchasing "New Rules of Lifting" It will basically take you through a whole year of routines without ever having to repeat any over that year if you dont want.
They are based on fat loss, muscle building etc...
Definitely worth the read and are kick-ass works
