Weigh In: Whoops.
So I totally forgot to weigh in today. Actually, I didn't forget - but by the time I realized it, I had woken up, made breakfast and had a big tall glass of drink, so the weigh-in soared, and wasn't accurate. So, I skipped it. FWIW, it was 277 - but going up 2.5 pounds 10 minutes after a meal and drink isn't something I'm going to sweat.
I'm looking at different routines and workouts to start on Monday, there's a few I really like. More on that later when I figure out what I'm going to do though. Been surfing through Billy's workouts a lot - if you want to get structure, follow what he did in the past. Some great stuff in there - and it's all found on the front right side of his blog page.
Anyway, not much to say. Had another solid workout today - I wanted to lay off the bench today, so I ran 2.25 miles on the treadmill, and then did the lat pulldowns and a few other upper body workouts (not the same muscles the weight bench works), did some legs and a lot of cardio. I'm going to do all cardio tomorrow so I can start Monday, whatever I decide to do, at full speed.
Oh - here's one thing I'm proud of. We went to an Italian restaurant tonight called "Eastside Marios". Typical americanized Italian joint - tons of cheese on top of tons of pasta. Total stumbling block, right? Instead, I ordered this DELICIOUS salad - and it's of note, because it's a salad I would have never ordered in the past. It had grilled chicken strips, all those weird looking lettuces that aren't iceberg - they actually look like leaves that fell off a tree, mandarin oranges, red onion (never really liked but growing on me), and roasted bell peppers - barely drizzled with a touch of sesame dressing. Pretty damn good actually. And a good way to spend only 420 calories.
One thing I was talking to Erin about over dinner was the 'fire' that I need to have, and I feel like I'm starting to slowly get back. In the past, when I was wanting to eat right, it was like a challenge. I would feel proud of myself - a major accomplishment - when I would go into a restaurant, order the RIGHT thing instead of just something that 'isn't too bad'. More recently, I've been taking the lazy, weak way out. Tonight, I walked out of the restaurant with the feeling of old.
All I know is that I'm remembering why I wanted to do this. Erin showed me a picture from an old photo album from 2003 that she was going through. You've seen my pictures of me recently - check this picture out. That was me a few years ago.
It's eye opening. That's where I was. Where I am now isn't the finish, but it's good to see I KNOW how to do this. I just have to remember that I'm not done, and that the finish line is still a ways away.
Stay strong this weekend.

Being accepting of the new me killed me. I didn't gross myself out anymore, so I laid off. Now my laziness disgusts me.
Boo-yah, baby.
Wow, Rob. What a difference between now and then!! And good for you to keep up the clean eating even despite massive temptation (Italian's always tempting for me!!). Keep it up.
Your pictures on the right are funny, it's like a movie preview!
